Of all the days to let my brother borrow my Saiga 12.
Quickly told, I haven't been home since early Thursday morning. I have a front motion sensing light and one in the rear the of course, burned out at the worst possible time.
Anywho, I pull in, open the door to my dark house around 9:20pm, I look toward the rear where the two sliding doors thinking...."why is there a light on inside?"
Welp, sure enough there was a young female with a huge white dog on my rear deck flashing a cheapo LED flashlight inside my house looking around.
I shouted, "HEY Muh FUCKA!"
She then took off into the darkness of my back yard. I call Porsche 911 GT3 and told them there was someone in my back yard. All the while I am looking for my katana. At that moment she takes off through the side door that she broke to get in. 3 Rozzer Crown Vics arrive from 3 directions in seriously less than 2 minutes. They didn't see anyone matching the description on the street so the went in the housecarefully. House was empty. None of my neighnors saw anything. The crim got away.
Kind of a little paranoid but mostly pissed the fuck off. I kind of wish she or if she had an accomplice come back, especially when I have my Saiga 12 with a 15 clip full of buck shot. If you're going to shoot a crim for breaking into your home (the thing that took years to get through real work busting ass for pennies), ya might as well put a giant hole through them. Jail won't do anything. A giant hole through their torso would lol. Like one of my neighbors said (which the rest agreed), "I would of just shot their ass" Agreed sir :]
F all that noise. Especially when my wife gets here in which she will be all alone here most of the day.

LOL! Awesome!
Gun nuts are too funny. One guy at work seriously thinks the Chinese are going to invade within 3 years. He has stock piled those freeze dryed meals and a bunch of ammo LOL.
But on the real, especially when I have my wife and little Cookie Monsters here and some low life scum tries to cause us harm (probably will never happen but...) i'll be ready. I will liquify them with lead. A friendly conversation will not cut it when a crack head needs his fix.

That sucks man. Glad you're alright though.
Had a similar thing happen this past summer when I was taking a shower before going out. Of all the possible times! I was so damn pissed (might've been the stress from studying for the MCAT taking its toll on me as well). Couldn't even have a moment in the shower to myself! The fucker tried to break in by cutting all the window screens and trying to force the windows and doors open. I heard the screen getting cut in the bathroom window and caught a peek of their hand and a razor blade cutting the screen (the window is inside the tub). Went from 0 to rage faster than P1 gets to 60mph. Hoped out of the shower with shampoo in my hair and nothing on and grabbed the biggest knife I could find in the kitchen and ran to the front window to try and catch a glimpse of the asshole running away. Couldn't see anything. Called the rozzers right after.

That was advice from a police officer to my Dad. The officer also said shoot in the chest, because you are more likely to hit a vital organ. Therefore they can't sue if they are dead. Good ole' Alabama county officers take deer stand thefts very seriously.

Usually the racking of a round into a chamber is a scary enough sound to deter assholes from stealing your shit and make them run away. But I don't know, I've always been taught to never point a gun at anything you are unwilling to pull the trigger on. I wonder if you can get sued for using less than lethal rounds on someone and incapacitating them until the police arrive.
I'll say that I'm not really an advocate for shooting people, but home invasions are a tricky subject with law that almost always favors the criminal when you shoot to injure or warn them.
It sucks that your place got broken into man. that is never a good feeling especially when you catch them in the act. Hopefully they don't comeback to try and finish what they started.

I'm still on the fence on using guns for home defense. I'm definitely a supporter of second amendment rights but I know myself and I know I would hesitate to shoot someone I perceived as a threat. Beat them half to death with a baseball bat or an asp baton? I wouldn't even flinch. And if I'm not going to kill a trespasser right out then I don't want to introduce a gun to a scenario that I might not use.

the last thing i want to do is take the life of some idiot just out to steal things. Unfortunately, that is rarely the case. Mofo's go in armed because they know the owner is armed are well. Whether under the influence or not, they will not feel sympathertic and caring when they attack you or your family over a damn TV or laptop. Jail/prison doesn't cure anything. A shot into the wall to scare someone is the beat situation. I would be feel horrible taking a life but fuck.... it is either them or us. That sucks man, have there been break ins around the neighborhood? Might want to look into getting a piece of wood to jam the sliding door shut when you're out.
I have a Benelli super nova specifically for home defense so it pretty much never leaves the house unless I'm going to the range to put some rounds though it. I'd suggest that you get yourself some home defense rounds, buck shot goes though walls and might hit someone or something behind said wall. Also, Saiga has a magazine not a clip ;).

I'd assume using non lethal rounds would get you sued. The other side of the coin is that if the intruder is coming at you when you're armed, it's become a life or death situation and it's either your family or them which is a no brainer in my book.
My dad taught me the same thing, never point a gun at anything you're not willing to destroy and always aim for center mass.

My dad taught me to cherish life and how to shoot. If some one is in my house I'll call the cops, place myself between the intruders and my wife and wait. I'll only pull the trigger if I feel an imminent threat to me or my wife, and I will shoot to kill.
A gun is not for wounding or warning, it's for killing and should be treated as such. I've never understood these Rambo types who hope for the situation of being able to shoot someone legally.

Exactly, I don't really understand that it is worse off legally speaking to use a less than lethal round to incapacitate and detain someone breaking and entering than it is to outright kill them. Even if you rack a round into the chamber and they injure themselves trying to leave your premises it seems like it is just a wise idea to shoot them lest they decide to sue you for personal injury. But then again if I were armed and someone came at me it is most definitely a center mass double tap and a call to a psychiatrist after the police.
My thinking and logic may be flawed, but that is what it seems like home invasion defense is about. Warning shots and injury shots are a no go, you must aim to kill to end up without legal ramifications that would net you a longer jail sentence than the criminal invading your property.
TheBloody, Oppositelock lives on in our shitposts.

I think the same logic that says it's better (legally speaking) to kill an intruder instead of wounding them is the same logic that says one of these guns is more lethal than the other:

lol right? :] The fact of the matter is that people are amed in fear of the criminals. What has happened in a Spy vs Spy effect where not the criminals (that will always exist even in a perfect society) are now armed because everyone else is armed. They will shoot you over a stupid TV or laptop. A gun will not protect you from a dumb 16 texting while driving but that and burglary have an equal amount of chance to happen... very low. But guess what, it DID happen to me. It probably will never again, but there is just really no way. Thing is to not be a damn gun nut and always be on the defense ready to kill any damn person for any reason. No, china is not going to invade the US lol. Relax :]

Crime will never go away even if all those actions were taken. Healthy, educated people commit crimes as well. Worse crimes than some crack head in your house stealing shit. The things it not to be damn gun nut just sitting there foaming at the mouth waiting to get a chance to shoot someone. I never thought this would happen to me but it fucking did. Not the first time and not the last. According to you, I was supposed to ask gently if this girl had any deeper issues that caused her to smash my fucking door in. Finding a gentle alternative and help out. LOL, not sure what happy friendly place you live in but shit goes down round here.
Sadly what has happened is a Spy vs Spy effect. Everyone gets armed to "prevent crime" Lol trust me, no damn gun can protect you from carbon monoxide or a person texting while driving. Those being way a more common thing. Also, criminals (which will always exist no matter what) are now armed because everyone else is. Someone willing to go into someones home, panics when caught will kill you over a simple stupid burglary. I have flood insurance just in case just like my Saiga 12. The thing is to not be a retard gun nut waiting for either China to invade or some hooded teens. Education about weapons and in general is key. RFK and JFK were both NRA members and my favorite figures in history. Nothing wrong with protecting your family but duh something greater needs to be done. But crime will never end

If you are sure about tbe China thing, never go to Vancouver. You'll think it the advance party...
Don't mind us. Geraldo says we are where terrorist attacks come from. And we have oil. We should be liberated soon!
My dad's place was broken into twice. Second time my sister came home and she could hear the guy going out the back basement window. I Spent the next hour hammering nails in all the window frames. They picked the guy up later on doing it a bunch of other places. I used to have to check the house before she came home every day. I remember and I feel for ya. The worst is you come home and they are in where you keep you gun (and cookie porn). So what then Concealed Carry????
There is no good answer. People suck.

Crime won't go away, but fucking stupid crimes like armed home invasion will, or at least the vast majority.
"According to you, I was supposed to ask gently if this girl had any deeper issues that caused her to smash my fucking door in"
Huh? Where did I say that?

Stupid little crimes will not go away. the world will never play together but the key is to not panic, live and let live. Around here, we have to treat any situation as with they are going to harm us. It's sounds stupid I know but that is reality.

Of course we can't get rid of all crimes, but the majority of the crimes like home invasions and so on are a fairly direct result of a) the 'war on drugs' and b) lack of treatment for the mentally ill. We have much the same problems here, although the crimes are slightly different because we have fewer guns around.
Rich junkies don't need to steal, so they don't. That tells us clearly that it's the cost of drugs which is what causes junkies to steal. So stop the war on drugs, make drugs available cheaply - although obviously controlled by pharmacies - and a lot of the crimes really will just not happen.

Ok then, must be nice where you are but here, there are a lot of criminals and ill people. There are a lot of guns. So what now? Go distribute books to junkies or just bust ass at work and protect my family. Even if I had an extra 8 hours in the day, I can't do everything on a day to day basis.
As long as there are humans, there will be rats. No matter how healthy and educated they are. When you're ready, come over to my neighborhood. Make sure to mention all that you have said when fu's are knocking your teeth in. Again, something I thought would never happend but it did, has, and will again.
Stay safe güey.
